Tis the season to be…towed???

I was in downtown SLO today and saw a tow truck towing a car from the parking lot next to the Cal Poly store/Bali’s yogurt. This is a private parking lot (with posted signs) which I see frequently used by people that are shopping in downtown SLO. I guess since it’s conveniently close to stores and it doesn’t have meters, it’s worth the risk to some to park there. A college-aged girl pulled in and took the parking spot recently vacated by the towed car and then she quickly exited her car and went walking down Higuera Street.

A short time later, an elderly couple walked up to the parking lot with a cart full of Ross Dress For Less bags and it was obvious their car had been towed and got the phone out to call the number on the sign.

My thoughts went from “you shouldn’t have parked there” to “where does an elderly couple park in downtown SLO?”. I don’t know the answer but watching this kinda bummed me out…..
