I recently received an opinion survey from the City of San Luis Obispo. The questions covered a range of topics related to the quality of life in SLO. The survey requested that you identify what the city excels at and is deficient in. There was also a section that allowed you to express your position on a scale of importance for topics related to development, traffic, recreation, shopping, and the arts. In the public service, law enforcement, and preservation sections they requested that you specify your willingness to pay for improvements. Overall, a very comprehensive survey that I believe was well designed to take a general public temperature. I encourage every SLO resident to log in and give their opinion. The survey can be taken online at www.slo2035.com. The results will also be posted on the site. I’m eager to see the public opinion related to residential real estate development. SLO currently sustains an annual 1% residential growth rate. Do you want that figure to reduce to zero or expanded? It’s wonderful to live in a community that appreciates the opinion of its residents and strives toward sustaining profitable growth.
