There was a sewage blockage today that caused a couple hundred gallons of raw sewage to flow down the storm drain, over a beach, and into the ocean. With the bad press Pismo Beach has received about the prior bacteria warnings around the pier, I’m shocked that the city allowed this to happen. Seems to me it would be a priority to make sure that the sewer system around the ocean is maintained. Wonder why this happened? Lack of money or department/worker mistake?? Wasn’t the recent sales tax increase supposed to help to prevent stuff(!) like this?
