I went to grab a sandwich today at the Quizno’s by the movie theatre/Walmart in Arroyo Grande when I was greeted by a sign on the door saying the bad economy caused them to close. While the economy was probably a big factor, there was something about this Quizno’s that didn’t make me want to run back. I went there plenty of times and I don’t know if other things contributed to the business failure like the way they trained their employees, the layout of the sandwich making area, or it being cramped when there was a customer line.
The economy has hurt the food industry but unless you’ve got terrific food, a good customer experience has to be more important than ever. There are a few other restaurants that I don’t think will survive these challenging times because they are lacking that good customer experience.
