Paso Perfect Day Trip for a Hot Summer Day

A perfect day trip for me starts with coffee on my front porch.  Paso mornings are always cool and pleasant. I love to wander through the wine country at a slow pace…but I don’t normally taste too much wine during the day as there are other things to see and do. First stop is Farmstand 46 just before Vineyard to pick up my favorite toasted sandwich called the Badger.  A memorable compilation of roasted veggies, goat cheese and basil toasted on fresh panini………yummm!  Next stop is going to be the Fat Cat Farm adjacent to Lone Madrone Wine Tasting.  I go to see what tempts me as far as native plants or maybe a new organic herb or veggie for my garden plot. Always a lot to see and learn from these nice folks! My day must include a few miles of brisk walking on the length of Cayucos Beach that welcomes my dog….peaceful! The way home is my ‘spoil me’ stop at Harmony Cellars. Can’t have a day off without these friendly vintners selecting one of their reds to go with a handcrafted Dark Chocolate and Gray Sea Salt Truffle Bar on their outside patio with a view – a perfect end to any day!
