With the amount of short sales and foreclosures on the market, more buyers are asking “Are we allowed to do a home inspection if the house is a forclosure or a short sale?”
The answer: Of course!
You are allowed to do a home inspection, sewer inspection, pest inspection, or all of the above. The difference is that the banks usually won’t pay for repairs that are suggested by the home inspectors or pest inspectors.
It is always a smart idea to have a professional do a home inspection before you buy. Even though the bank won’t do any repairs, you have the right to know if there are any problems with the property.
