Essential Water

The rain clouds have been stingy so far this year.  Our beautiful Central Coast experiences these dryer cycles on a regular basis.  So management of this most essential resource is likely to be a bigger issue in years to come as our county attempts to grow and thrive.  There are several dedicated groups of individuals who meet regularly to collaborate for the best overall solutions.  In an attempt to educate myself, I attended a recent meeting of the Water Resources Advisory Committee (WRAC).  It was a bit over my head but what was clear is that this is important work.  For those who want to be more informed, a good place to start may be at the Outreach/Visioning Workshops offered  – North County workshops will be on March 21st – Atascadero 10 to 12pm; Paso Robles 1 to 2pm; and San Miguel 6:30 to 8:30pm. Meeting details will be posted next week so please visit for more info and meeting details – http://www.slocountywater.org/site/Frequent%20Downloads/Integrated%20Regional%20Water%20Management%20Plan/  or call Carolyn Berg at 805 781-5536.
