Doggie Swim Day

My wife and I took our golden to the Templeton Community Pool today for the doggie swim (that’s our hairy beast in the photo!). They do this once a year right before they close the pool. They are doing it tomorrow (Sunday) from 10-3 as well. Each swim session is 45 minutes and it starts on the hour (so 10, 11, 12, 1, or 2). Cost is $15 and that goes to a fund raiser for a dog park in the area. They have plenty of toys the dogs can fetch.

The dogs can go into either the wading pool or the shallow half of the main pool. They have floating steps around the pool to make it easy for them to get out and there were 4 people in the pool helping.

There is a maximum amount they will allow in each session. They were taking reservations at 239-4437 but we just walked up. You must bring proof of rabies vaccination too. We went for the 1:00 time today but it was full so we just signed up for the 2:00. Also, don’t worry about lining up to get in as everyone seemed to do. There’s no advantage of being front of the line as it takes about 45 seconds to let everyone in. Wait in the shade!!

If you want a fun time with your pooch, don’t miss out tomorrow.
