The Cambria Playhouse is a charming theater with a historically atmospheric lobby and piano bar. The theater seats only 45, creating an intimate setting. Plays are performed about year round with shows Friday and Saturday evenings and some Sunday Matinees.
If you have not had an opportunity to view a play on the Central Coast- you may not know that the talent in our area is phenomenal! If you have any doubts about that, remember Zac Efron, who? (If you do not know- just ask ANY Teenage girl); Zac Efron preformed in community theater on the central coast prior to his big break through to where he is now- one of the hottest young stars in Hollywood. No, he is not currently performing at the Cambria Playhouse or any other community theaters at this time.
Speaking of Zac…Did you know that I once preformed on stage WITH Zac Efron!?! Yes- it is true. My one and only play experience and I shared the stage with Zac. Imagine. No-don’t be misled- I am not one of those with phenomenal talents that I mentioned earlier; I was in the chorus and served as background scenery playing a 1920’s party girl. It was the play Mame and Zac was Patrick – Auntie Mame’s nephew who she took in and raised.
Here is a snapshot of the two us –together- on stage- taking our bows. That is me on the left in the back row, with the black hat; Zac is in the front row on the right just under the holiday ornament. Gee- I wonder if he remembers me….
