Being a Tourist

My Cal Poly college roommate came to town last weekend (from Denver) and we decided to tour the area. We played on 3 of the disc golf courses in the area; Sinsheimer (SLO), Atascadero, and Santa Maria. Each course is different and lots of fun.

We also found a full-size shuffleboard table at Legends in Morro Bay. Kinda cramped but we played 3 games and couldn’t beat the price to play (free!).

Last Saturday, we payed a visit to Dennis at Kayak Horizons on Embarcadero in Morro Bay. I haven’t ever kayaked on Morro Bay before and it was really fun too. The weather was perfect (little wind). Not a bad price either ($9/hour) and I didn’t get wet although it took a minute to get used to the kayak and initially thought I was going to tip it. But after that, not a problem!

There’s also a new candy store that opened in downtown SLO a few months ago. It’s in the Court Street center, down the alley from Peets coffee. It is quite the store. Lots of sweets and other things. The name is Powell’s Sweet Shop and it is a franchise with about 15 other stores in California.
