Amazon Kindle Fire, First Experience

I picked up a Kindle Fire tablet last night so I can test Android applications since I got rid of my Android phone for an IPhone.  Initial thoughts is that it seems like a good device with a smaller screen than the IPAD and only supports wi-fi.  Not easy to find the apps market though.

Turned it on today and it worked ok but then when it went into sleep mode, it didn’t come out of it. They don’t include any instructions with it (the user guide is on the Kindle itself) so I went online and found a way to reset it (press in the power button for 15 seconds).  Had to try this a couple times before it worked again.

We have 4 IPADs in our household for awhile now, including IPAD 1’s and IPAD 2’s. Never had a problem with any of them.

Yes, the IPADs are more expensive but for the larger screen and the Apple Apps store, I’d pay the extra $$ and get an IPAD.
